In the week from Monday 28 January to Friday 1 February 2019, 40 students of all school partners and their accompanying professors met in Ettal, in the Bavarian Alps.
The educational program followed by the students was about the philhellenic action that existed in the area at the time of the 19th century.
The students of the Benediktinergymnasium welcomed the students from partner schools of Germany, Corfu, Slovenia, Romania and Nafplio They presented themselves, their schools and their countries. They showed them around the premises of the monastery in which the Ettal school belongs, the boarding school, the basilica, the monastery, the library. Together with their teacher the students took part in activities related to I.Kapodistria and his Philhellenic action in Bavaria.
In the spirit of this educational exchange, they learned about the educational system of Germany and they exchanged experiences about it.
In addition, they came into contact with the cultural heritage of Ettal, the every day life the local mores, customs and traditions of the area.
Also the students and their teachers visited points of interest indicative of German Phelenhinism to the Königsplatz (the King’s Square) and the State Archaeological Collection of Munich.
The students and the teachers returned home with a lot of experience from this multifaceted contact, realizing at the same time the great personality of I. Kapodistrias.

ERASMUS+ programme is an opportunity of collaborating with some amazing people and the chance to meet students and teachers of different nationalities. I learnt to socialize with new people and I improved my English and German, too. The German school “Benedickter Gymnazium” from Ettal welcomed us with open arms and brought us to wonderful educational places. In the end I would just like to thank for this unforgettable experience!
I had a great time in Germany. I created new friendships and socialized a lot. I loved everything about this project. The school was really beautiful and the activities were interesting. Thank you for such a wonderful project!
This project was a great opportunity to see how kids from other countries learn and live. The activities were educational and funny in the same time, and made us start great friendships. I hope I will have the opportunity to take part in another project like this soon
I really liked the opportunity to meet new people, make new friends, visit new places and get to know another country from another perspective. I loved the warm welcome from both the school and the family. I also wait for other pupils from other schools to come in Romania

I have never visited Germany before and I think that is the best country that I have visited! In
Greece we don’t have snow and for this reason the snowy mountains of Germany were
fantastic!
When I saw the school I said “wow”! It is so big and with the monastery it looks like a castle. Its
classrooms are spacious and they have amazing view from the windows. Monastery’s
architecture is magnificent and its history, which a polite monk explained to us, is very
interesting. Most of all I was impressed by the images of the monastery. They have many
details and the expressions of the faces make them look like real ones. On Wednesday we
visited two museums in Munich , from which I learnt many new things.
Now let’s talk about my partner. My exchange partner is named Veronika. She is a very kind
and cute girl and I had an amazing time with her. The hospitality was great and her house was
so beautiful. Veronika’s parents and sister were also very kind and they made me feel like
home. Her bedroom and generally all the house was warm and my bed so comfortable. I didn’t
want to return to Greece!
I miss everyone and hope to see them soon!
In Germany it was very nice! I met a new culture, a new country, a new way of life and children I
didn’t know. The thing that impressed me the most was the school monastery. The architecture
was magnificent and the frescoes were unique.
There I did new things I hadn’t tried before. For instance I did curling and sleigh on the snow. It
was an amazing experience that I would like to do again!
The family was hospitable, polite with me and eager to help me in the home adaptation. I felt
very nice and comfortable and also I felt like I was a member of the family.
All this was an amazing experience that I would like to live again!
The truth is that many days I am looking for how to characterize this fantastic , this
irreplaceable experience. Just this: it was amazing!
The family that hosted me , mr and mrs Kozma were very good to me . And of course their
daughter Gigi + Zsofi. I miss all of them so much!
Now about the school and the city. They were very beautiful and also clean. The school and the
monastery were so special with their particular details! the museums that we visited were very
nice and interesting.
I can write more but I just want to say that I had a fantastic experience. the family, our routine,
the school, the rides, I miss all of them!
If I could, I would do it again!
In the end of January I visited Germany. Max was the kid who hosted me in Ettal. Specifically
we stayed in a small town which was called Garmish. All the things we did was the best!
the first day the took me from the train station and we went to their house, we ate and we
played boarding games. The second day we went to the school and we did some adventurous
activities in the class and out . We also went out and we played with the snow. Later we went to
the house and we ate special food and spend some time together. the next day they guided us
to their school which was also amazing.! Later in the house we had to eat something also
special: a big pizza! We ate, we played boarding games and in the night I was talking to my
friends. When we woke up we went to the train station to Munchen. We visited some museums
and we learned many things. In the afternoon we went out and the hosting family guided me in
all the town. Later we were very tired and slept very early. The last day after the school we
went shopping and for pizza. this day was the best for me and the hosting family!
This was one of my best experiences of my life! I will do it again if I can!
